About The Event

El Consulado is an evolving, participatory installation that serves as a bridge between displacement and belonging. Through visual art, video, performance, live music, soundscapes, and interactive workshops, we explore migration, resilience, and collective memory, inviting the community to reimagine identity and cultural connection.

PACHANGA is a Venezuelan immigrants arts collective based in New York, curated by artist Alejandra Mandelbaum, formed in response to the lack of cultural representation for Venezuelan artists in the U.S. Our project El Consulado, transforms an empty space into a symbolic cultural embassy—not as an institution, but as a welcoming, living environment that evokes a sense of home.

El Consulado is presented in collaboration with ChaShaMa, New York’s premier organization for providing artists with studio and presentation space.

Come raise the flag of art, memory, and shared belonging.

April 24th - June 22nd // 1161 1st Ave., New York, NY 10065
